01 / The operation

Grain and cattle strengthen the same farm.

The two sides of BarK3 follow different rhythms, but they depend on the same fundamentals: close observation, good timing, careful handling, and a willingness to adapt when conditions change.

Our standard is practical. Produce grain we are proud to deliver. Raise cattle with consistent care. Keep the land capable of supporting both for the next season and the ones after it.

02 / Stewardship

Recognized by our peers

The long view has always been practical.

The 2011 Alberta Beef Producers Environmental Stewardship Award recognized work that joined productive farming with care for water, soil, forage, and wildlife habitat.

  • WaterRiparian fencing, wider crop buffers, and off-site watering systems.
  • GrazingRotational and swath-grazing practices shaped around the land and the herd.
  • EnergySolar watering and fencing, cattle movement on foot, and reduced machinery use where practical.
  • HabitatWet and low-lying areas retained as shelter and habitat for wildlife.

“Together they are everything to us.”

03 / Involvement

Agriculture is collaborative

Contributing beyond our own fence lines.

BarK3 people have contributed to the West-Central Forage Association, a local Agricultural Service Board, Cows and Fish, and the Paddle River Stewardship Group.

That involvement brings research, field experience, producer education, and local decision-making together. It also reflects a simple belief: agriculture improves when producers share what they learn.
